Marc A. Bourgeois

Born in Moncton, Marc Bourgeois was admitted to the bar in November 2004.

Marc began working as an articled clerk in the Fredericton office of Cox Hanson O’Reilly Matheson in November 2003.  After completing his undergraduate studies and Law Degree at l’Université de Moncton, Marc accepted a brief posting with the United Nations War Crimes Tribunal in Tanzania. During this time, he was assigned to the Office of the Prosecutor at the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda.

Later, Marc was posted in Pretoria (South Africa) working with Lawyers for Human Rights an NGO specializing in Refugee and Human Rights Law.  Upon his return he and Senior Partner Gary A. Miller founded the law firm of Miller Bourgeois where they both currently practice exclusively in the field of criminal law.

Marc is a member of the Law Society of New Brunswick, the Canadian Bar Association and President of the New Brunswick Criminal Defence Lawyers’ Association.  Marc is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Elizabeth Fry Society of New Brunswick.

His first book entitled Droit maritime, co-authored with Marie-Claude Desrosiers, was published in January 2005. Marc is bilingual (English + French).
